Dearest Friend,

2011 kicked off with our hope, faith and joy focused on our Lord Jesus. As always we walked out the year not knowing what lay ahead but knowing that He was in control. We experienced many highs and many lows---Darryl coming home from Japan working together with Stephanie as an advocate with "Loving Shepherd Ministries" for true orphans around the world. We had the privilege to travel within the States and Haiti meeting fascinating people who love children at risk. We look forward, with anticipation, in visiting the other countries where there are "Forever Homes." Our vision is for more "Forever Homes". We, so, love the holistic approach in caring for these dear children. God keeps the treads of Stephanie's past loose so that she can always feel these children's hearts for wholeness.

We also had the honor of ministering God's Saving Grace, healing and freedom to thousands who turned over their lives to the power of our Lord Jesus Christ. What an honor to bring these loved ones as they walked up to Jesus and handed their sorrow over.

We also saw our Lord come through for both our boys in a big way thiDavin and Alexs year. They both were given a job that they so enjoy. Our oldest had been unemployed for over a year, which had taken a great toll on their family. To see healing, integrity, and hope is a beautiful thing for us to watch. What a blessing to build a relationship with both our boys and their loved ones. WE LOVE THEM SO! They are our treasure from the Lord!

Of course, one of the greatest delights is watching our grandchildren grow and mature into the people God has destined them to be.

Some lows were-watching friends families get broken---sickness overtaking saints---friends and family struggling through a very tight financial year---presenting Jesus and some saying "NO". We stand in faith for all these dear loved ones, believing that 2012 is their year of Victory!

Walking in Faith has many highs and lows. In them all, we know, He is in charge as we stay with our eyes fixed on Him. For each one of you who have partnered with us, we want to say "THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU!" You are the support which keeps us moving toward the goal. We are in this together. You are the right-arm, the left-arm, prayer warriors, cheerleaders, a warm fire when things get cold, a shoulder to cry on when we are wounded. You rejoice with us for every life story of redemption, healing, and freedom. Without you,we would not be whole.

Thank you, also, for each one of you who have been praying for our first book to be written. IT IS WRITTEN!! You, my special angels, who spent many precious hours helping me in writing, there are no words! My heart is full of gratitude! We are anticipating the release of the first book titled; "Child of Destiny-The Orphan Years" to be out late this coming spring or early summer. We need you at that time to help promote it! Social Media, we hear, is the best way, besides lots of prayer.

Joy expands our body, mind, spirit and soul!! What a festival to celebrate you, coming and living amongst us. We celebrate with great celebration, sharing gifts and warm greetings. We are waiting for the day when cruelty of tyrants will be done away with----Your ruling authority will grow, and there will be no limits on the wholeness you bring"!!

Happy After Thanksgiving!! I trust you had a most blessed Thanksgiving in every way!! I had a great time with my family in Indiana. We celebrated each other and the blessings of our Lord. As I prayed for you over Thanksgiving, I "thanked" my God upon every remembrance of you and I asked Him to bring something great your way!!

I am writing to bring to your attention 2 very exciting and must attend events:

1) Monday, December 5, 2011 from 11:00-1:30 is our APRC Community Wide Chri stmas P arty at the APRC, 2717 Rio Grande Street, Austin, TX 78705, 512-476-7774. It is a come and go over the lunch time. Come and bring everyone you know to see the APRC and to enjoy good food and Celebration of LIFE of the work the APRC has done this year and plans to do next year in 2012.

2) Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 11:00-1:30 at the River Place Country Club, 4207 River Place Blvd. Stephanie Fast, one of our keynote speakers from our APRC Fall Extravaganza, will be joining us all the way from Portland, OR for lunch and sharing her most powerful testimony of being abandoned on the streets of Korea and the vision that the Lord has placed on her heart to rescue children and place them in Forever Homes. This is a very exciting event that you and everyone you know will want to plan to attend.

In this great orchestra called life each one of us is an instrument which declares His song. I have been chosen and rescued so that I may be a voice for orphans. I exist to love the Lord by conveying what it is like to walk in an orphan's shoes. Do you know what fear an orphan has, curled up in a ball hoping not to be seen so she will not be violated? Have you experienced true hunger. that feeling that you are being eaten up by a monster inside you? Walking forever but with no destination? Waking up each morning knowing it will take all your will power to dodge beatings and assaults? Being a voice I can articulate for the 143,000,000 or more orphans. I have walked in their shoes. It does not matter which country, every orphan left to care for themselves has the same story. I know because I have walked in their shoes! Each one of us who loves orphans is compelled to action by a God who says He will vindicate them, rescue them, deliver them, hear them, lift them up, be their Father, to meet their needs, and to maintain their cause. God's intention to fulfill these promises is through us, His instruments. How has God called you to be a voice to the fatherless? Ask, seek, knock! Once you decide on the path which best works with your instrument, your journey will change you and the orphan you've embraced forever! Have you ever felt like you were in a deep ravine hollering for help? When I was around 7 I was thrown into a pit with water left to die. I yelled for help but the walls just echoed back my desperation. What I didn't know was a village grandma was waiting...to rescue me. It had to be at a perfect time. God waits while I am in a panic...His timing is always perfect!

A quick update from Haiti…

Jeni and I along with Jen Schwartz arrived in Port au Prince, Haiti on Wed. morning. Jan Gutwein brought his Bearhawk plane to Haiti a week or so ago and picked us up at the airport to fly us to Cayes. The flight went very well and we’re praying about ways in which this plane can be a support to the mission of LSM. (photo attached). Flying to Cayes at 6000’ in about an hour with great views… plus opportunities for multiple low-flight passes over the Cancer Redemption site and the Cavaillon Home of Hope.

We are having many meetings this week, along with opportunities to visit the various LSM projects. Doug, Tonia and family are doing very well and making a difference in a variety of ways. They are moving some projects forward and also developing relationships with missionaries and others which are certainly vital to the long-term success of LSM in Haiti. The decision to have them in Haiti for this 3 month period has been a huge blessing.

Yesterday we visited the Homes of Hope at Chantal, Welsch 1 and 2, Torbeck and Cavaillon.

Chantal has a new houseparent couple and we found Dominique and Lucie to be an extremely wonderful addition to the LSM staff. I’ve attached their picture, and yes, Lucie is about 4 inches taller than Dominique. Jan mentioned that to Dominique and he laughed and said, “yes, but she loves me a lot!” I asked Lucie if that was accurate. She beamed and said “anpil (very much)”.

We spent time at the Cancer Redemption site. Though I walked it many times in the past, nothing compared to this time. The road is done; The top is sculptured and ready for all the construction; 2 Homes of Hope are up and finalizing completion; 2 more Homes of Hope are in the very beginning phases of construction; the well is done as is the utility building; the pad is ready for the church/school/fellowship building; the posts for the fence are being planted; shoring is being built to stabilize the various stone and dirt walls that hold the various levels of the mountain…

Jan has done an outstanding job of getting the mountain prepared for construction and getting the construction underway… Lord willing Zach will be in Haiti for some other work the end of the month and will have the privilege of putting his feet on the mountaintop of the Cancer Redemption Project. Please pray for his health…

Though the Mountains Tremble, God is our Refuge and Strength

With everything going on in Japan, Darryl has reminded us all.........

"Psalms 46:1-3: 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling."

Some workers at the reactor site have been exposed to very high degrees of radiation and need much prayer! The extremely high radiation there has caused work to be stopped. It is possible two of the cores are quite damaged.

In Tokyo the drinking water is now supposedly safe for children under one. In the last post, Darryl mentioned that the government had said children under one shouldn't drink it but apparently the radioactive Iodine level has decreased.

Darryl has been on the board of an organization here in Japan since it's inception ten years ago and for the last year he has have acted as the internal auditor. This organization sent in a team last week to see how best they can help. They have sent in truck loads of supplies as well as reached remote areas not yet getting government help by helicoptor. This organization has provided a means for people to get clean drinking water in third world countries so we are doing that for some areas in the Tohoku area. They have ferried in medical supplies, diapers (both adult and baby), blankets, food, etc.

An ongoing plan is being developed for long term assistance. One of the members of the team was a doctor who has expressed great concern for the mental health of the people living in the gymnasium where he was. Half of the people were over 65 and about half of the people have lost everything. One of the team members remains on the ground there helping set up water purification systems. He says one group of 500 people were drinking water from a swimming pool for a week. He also says in one area it is said a family lives on one rice ball a day. They were taking in food the next day.

Many churches are sending in teams and truckloads of supplies. Pray for them but also pray that their witness will be effective and the Gopel message received! They go in the name of Jesus!

Other churches are funneling supplies and money. It is wonderful to see God's people respond!  Darryl found a quote on a friend's blog that expresses his thoughts and feelings.........
